They noticed the name “Marshall Tucker” inscribed on the warehouse’s key, which belonged to a piano tuner of the same name. In 1973, after landing a deal with Capricorn Records, The Marshall Tucker Band opened shows for The Allman Brothers, and in the following year, with the success of their debut album, The Marshall Tucker Band, they began headlining shows of their own nationwide. Their debut album earned the band a spot on the U.S. Billboard 200, peaking at No. 29. Searchin’ for a Rainbow, the band’s fourth album, reached No. 15 just a couple years later.
